About Nia

Nia Gibson is a dedicated sports journalist with a mission to humanize athletes and forge deeper connections between them and their fans through shared experiences and commonalities. As a former Division I track and field athlete and an avid sports fan, Nia offers a unique perspective, understanding the world of sports from both the athlete's and the fan's viewpoints.

Nia holds a Bachelor’s in Communications from Syracuse University and a Master’s in Broadcast and Digital Journalism with a Sports Communications emphasis from the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications.

Her professional journey includes impactful roles at ESPN and Your World Media, where she honed her skills in creating engaging content and strategic social media management. Her experience also spans work with Overtime and the National Basketball Association (NBA), where she developed a keen ability to tell compelling stories and drive fan engagement.
